I’ve had an Tesla for several years and recently I had an issue where the j1772 adapter that I got from the dealer started having problems. Looking through the options to replace it, I came across this product and I liked that this one came with a lock to prevent others from unplugging your car. If you use shared public chargers you know how annoying that is.

I have a model 3 and model y and tired this on both, it works great and I’m finally able to use ccs chargers now!! This should have came with the car but of course tesla likes to make things more difficult. Thank God connectors like these are available now

Seems to be working well with my 2023 Model 3. I live in an area where the nearest Tesla Supercharger is approximately 1hr30mins away, so this adapter is essential to use the generic fast chargers (in my case, our Provincial power provider BC Hydro).

OK, here’s the deal folks, you MUST check to ensure your tesla is compatible with CCS but opening the Control>Software>Additional Vehicle Information screen (Shown in screenshot). I’m guessing everyone (me included) that could not use this do NOT have compatible software.

As several reviewers as well as the seller are saying and very clear about: Make sure your car is ready for this type of adapter before buying. Manufacturer of a device like this doesn’t matter if your car isn’t compatible – and don’t rely on model year (that’s not how Telsa works). Look it up on your car first; only takes a minute.

The first trip I took with my Tesla Model 3 last year we did run into a snag, as the area where we were traveling in did not have any Super Chargers, however there was a “Fast Charger” that was at the destination. It ended up being a CCS charger, and I had no way of using it. I learned a lot on that trip, and one thing I learned was to have options to keep the car charged.
