ItÕs a decent CarPlay alternative for my 2019 highlander, which does not have CarPlay. Seems to work fine, only major gripe is the blinding white background screen when it is turned on at night. Please change the back ground to black.

  2. Shakzz

I love this product as this makes my older car smarter. Definitely having all latest generation technology in it like wireless carplay and a great backup camera. The FM transmitter woks pretty well for audio. 7Ó HD IPS Touch Screen is very nice and bright and very easy to connect without any issues.

IÕm using this as an easy-to-use modern update to an old car that the family has. We were using a stand-alone FM transmitter before and this is quite the upgrade! It automatically connects to my phone and the computer isnÕt too slow. The screen quality is good and it has a sun shade to keep the screen visible during the daytime. I think its hilarious my old car now has a backup cameraÑ but with a family with kids and animals, its an added safety feature that gives me some extra peace of mind. This unit is also making switching cars a little easier, since the other car we have has a computer and GPS system. Overall, IÕm happy with this multimedia receiver and it is meeting my needs!

  5. L6reviewer

Wow! What a great way to add a 7 inch display to a vehicle that does not have one. It was super easy to connect Bluetooth, power cord, and rear camera. It comes with a flat mount with sticky tape and a suction mount for a windshield. I am familiar with Apple CarPlay and this interface was the same as others. The 7Ó display has good clarity for navigation. The unit has a built in speaker that works good for Bluetooth audio from the phone. The unit is not cheap but seems to be a good value for the size and features. Definitely recommend!

  6. Jessica K

So far IÕve only had it for a day, and I will come back to review it more thoroughly once IÕve had it for a couple of months, but so far, it seems great. It mounts nicely on the dash and connected to my phone easily. This would be great for vehicles that are a little older and donÕt have built in Bluetooth and a back up cam already.

  7. Marcus Huntz

I use this device in my car that doesnÕt have a screen or Bluetooth. ItÕs the perfect replacement for the Bluetooth speaker I was using to listen to music. The device connects to your carÕs radio/speakers through the built-in FM transmitter and plays clear audio wirelessly. The familiar interface of Apple CarPlay runs smoothly and efficiently. The backup camera doesnÕt have the resolution of a stock backup camera, but itÕs sufficient and provides a wide angle view for convenience and safety when reversing. IÕd recommend this product to anyone who doesnÕt have a Bluetooth stereo, screen with CarPlay, or a backup camera.

  8. Kevin

My car is an Ô08 that has some good tech components, but I couldnÕt do much with my phone since my only option for playing music from it was using an aux port. This receiver solves the biggest problem I had with this car because now my phone connects straight to it when I turn my car on and itÕs just like having a new dash display. The screen size is perfect, not too big not too small, the cables it came with let me hide most of the length going from my car charger to the receiver, and itÕs insanely easy to set up and use. I couldnÕt recommend this enough as a way to bring some new features to an old car. 10/10.

  9. Bringing modern capabilities to your vehicle

I absolutely loved this. It was a whole solution in one box. I feel like it covered all the bases. They have a suction cup mount; an adhesive sticker mount, plenty of cable for the backup camera, and all necessary cables for enjoying this device! I felt like the CarPlay was perfect, and it also had a home button to return to the main screen for switching sources. Overall I think IÕm going to love this product!

  10. Nate

I have 2014 car that doesnÕt have car play. I have been dealing with my phone all the time. Now i love that i can use car play with this big screen. Even my friend new car doesnÕt have wireless car play.

  11. Raj

I usually donÕt review but this one is worth a million reviews. It just turned out to be so good to be true. My car just got upgrade from an old basic model to a fancy touchscreen GPS with CarPlay. I love this product and suggest everyone to try this out. It has a backup camera facility too which has a clean and high camera quality.

  12. Richie L

IÕve been using 41952 for about a month now and IÕm very pleased with how well itÕs working, I now can use CarPlay in my 2012 Jeep and have the ability to listen to my music and make calls and receive call without taking my hands off the wheel! Also have GPS and a rear view camera! Works greatÉÉ

  13. Eunsil

My car is an old one without any of these technologies. So I thought it could be a good addition to my car.

I use iPhone, so IÕm using Apple CarPlay, not Android Auto. The connection between iPhone and Rexing 41952 was easy and smooth. You can just follow instructions in the manual. I have been using iPhone a lot while driving to listen to my favorite songs, google maps, and Siri. With this device, it is definitely more convenient to use apps in my iPhone. It is especially true with the larger display size than iPhone itself. So if youÕre like me, and your car is old that doesnÕt support this function, itÕs worth considering buying it. As safe driving is the most important thing, it benefits more if you are fluent in using Siri – do not text messaging while driving.

IÕm okay without the backup camera, so I didnÕt install it. However, it should be an important safety feature to use if you have some bad memories of an accident while backing up your car.

I have owned Rexing dash cameras for a long time the oldest is about 7 years and still rocking, so I decided to try this Wireless Carplay multimedia receiver. I am amazed at how it works. My wife has Carplay in a 2022 car, and this Rexing 7Ó HD Touch Screen has nothing to be jealous of. It is very responsive, the colors are vibrant, the images are crystal clear and the audio using the aux to connect it to my carÕs audio system sounds beautiful.
    Pros.
Get a 7Ó Carplay without replacing the head unit
The screen is huge and has crystal-clear images with vibrant colors.
The phone connects automatically quickly and to the system.
The sound is great using a 3.5 mm audio cable with my car system.
Easy to set up and has plenty of options, hardware included
The backup camera looks great (I just installed it and did not have time to fully test it yet but seems reasonably high-resolution)
    Cons.
    Built-in dashcam (front and rear-facing)
AUX cable can be a bit bulky along with the power and the rear camera wires but is nice to have the option
When I hooked up my stereo via the audio cable, I did notice a hum until the music starts
I would like a combination of Carplay and dash camera together having both things on my windshield feels a bit cluttered and bulky

  15. Jeo

I bought this for my 2017 Rogue which does not have CarPlay. IÕve wanted to use Google Maps over the built in GPS which is outdated. IÕm a fan of their dash cams so I chose this one based on my experience in the past. The installation is easy as well as the pairing process. It also comes with plenty of mounting options. ItÕs worked great so far and has done everything I hoped. My car has a built in backup camera so I have not used the Rexing one much but everything else is working great.

  16. Tech Guy

I have been waiting on something like this for a long while. The camera along with CarPlay and wireless CarPlay to boot! I was skeptical about the wireless CarPlay because I have had issues with factory units in the past but this has worked flawlessly. I use this in a full size pickup that already has a backup cam, however I actually mounted it up a little higher as in the warmer weather I tow my boat quite a bit. Unlike the factory camera, this one I can turn on at any time and monitor my trailer. I also mounted just in front of my center counsel and this make it really easy to access the features and make calls. I can’t speak for Android Auto on the IOS intergradation. Screen is a good size and very bright and easy to see. Nighttime it can auto adjust and I usually have navigation on in dark mode so itÕs not too bright.
Install was straight forward and pretty much plug n play with exception of routing wires for camera. All cords were long enough and build quality seemed to be good. I do wish the unit had a power button to cycle power if needed. Maybe I am missing it but didn’t see any other than unplugging and plugging back in.

Overall I give this a good score. No major cons other than a power switch.

  17. Daniel Nguyen

The Rexing 41952 is a multimedia receiver that adds a lot of useful features including Carplay/Android Auto, Large 7Ó HD Touch Screen display that connects to your phone apps such as GPS and media, and a backup camera function. I still drive my 2002 Honda Acord and this device makes my car feel updated. The device setup is straightforward and simple with just the power cable plugged into the cigarette lighter and the rear camera connected to the main device.

Inside the box, you receive a suction cup mount and adhesive strip to mount to the windshield. Upon boot up and connecting my phone to the device via Bluetooth, it was quick and easy with the Android Auto. It displayed all my apps and was able to use the FM Transmitter to listen to audio through my car’s stereo system. You also have the option to use the built in AUX port. I really appreciate the large display, especially for viewing GPS navigation while driving. After you setup the connection, the device boots up Android Auto automatically as long as your phoneÕs Bluetooth is on, which is nice and convenient.

The main feature that caught my interest was the backup camera. It is a nice addition to have and the parking assist helps with parking. You can hardwire the rear camera to your reverse lights to have the display automatically turn on the backup camera function instead of manually pressing it, however, I have not yet tried installing it. Unfortunately, like with many rear cameras in the market, the quality is average and not great during low-light settings and nighttime driving.

The device itself is quite large and can take a lot of space from your dash when mounted. I would have liked a dashcam function, but since it does not have that, I had to keep my existing dashcam plugged in. If you are running a similar setup like me, you may need to purchase a higher wattage Cigarette Lighter Adapter. Overall, I really enjoy having these new features in my old car and makes driving feel more efficient and safer compared to staring at my small phone screen for GPS navigation. If you drive a newer car with a screen already, this device would not help.

  18. Jago

A simple way to add wireless CarPlay or Android Auto technology to your older vehicle. If you are looking for an easy way to update your car with the latest technology, then this is a great way to do so. The high resolution IPS 7Ó touchscreen is bright and is easy to use and is responsive to touch without any noticeable lag. The interface has large touch screen buttons that are easy to use such as FM modulator, CarPlay/Android Auto, back up camera, and volume. The unit itself is well made and it manufactured out of sturdy plastic with a physical power button on the right-hand side, a built-in sunshade at the top and sides. Power, camera, and Aux inputs on located on the left side and at the top there is a screw mount that I believe is similar to what camera tripods use. Included in the packaging is the backup camera with a long 15Õ or so cable (3.5mm) connector, a short 3.5mm audio cable, a 12-volt cigarette style adapter with a long USB Micro plug (standard on most Dashcams still), a suction cup holder, a dash mount adapter (with strong adhesive), and some simple instructions. It was packaged well in a nice box, and it does feel like a very premium product. When I installed the 41952 I had three plugs coming out of the side and it felt like a little too much. The only plug that has a right-angle connector is the camera cable, the rest are straight, and I feel that if the power and aux plug were right angle as well, then it wouldnÕt seem so cluttered with cables. Also, the 12-volt adapter does not have a USB passthrough and my older car it would be nice to have, newer cars have USB, but they also probably have CarPlay and Android Auto as well. You can eliminate having to use the Aux cable if you use the FM modulator, but I never have very good luck with that and it seems that every frequency around me is used for broadcasting and I get interference, however, it is a nice feature to have if you do not have an aux port in your car. The backup cameras quality is as good as my newer trucks back up camera and I am happy about that. If you connect the red cable on the camera to your reverse lights, then it will automatically trigger when you put your car in reverse, otherwise you can hit the revers button on the screen. Overall, you get a great device with a 18 month warranty (if you register) and I have had many Rexing products in the past and they have not disappointed me yet.

  19. Kerry & Wayne Connell

Ever since my friend got his CarPlay I have wanted one. Problem is I have an older pickup with a stereo that cannot be easily replaced. I was delighted to find this device that allows me to have it.

The display is huge and responsive, unlike my gps that has to think for a moment when touched, this unit works immediately upon contact. This device also makes listening to podcast and music easy. When I start the truck, it automatically connects to my iPhone. Your 12v plug will need to turn off with the vehicle or as in my case IÕll hard wire it to the fuse box. If not, unplugging it works just as well. The screen is extremely bright and I really like the sun shade around the top and sides. I donÕt use Apple Maps, preferring instead Google Maps. It works great. Now I donÕt have to use my phone display as this always overheats my iPhone. Back up camera is clear. I donÕt have it hard wired into my reverse light, I just click on the icon. There are on screen controls to navigate Apple Music and Podcasts. This device also enables you to split screen your maps and music/podcast and a third split during a phone call.

I do have one con, and it may just be CarPlay, but when IÕm on a phone call, I cannot chose home on the menu. A bit irritating when I want to use the backup camera. I may end up hardwiring it into the reverse light to remedy this issue.

When I hooked up my stereo via the audio cable, I did notice a hum. I have an older truck so I suspect this is the issue. I did however have an audio line filter which has helped tremendously. I didnÕt have an issue connecting via an FM channel, but it is louder with an audio cable.

This will be my fourth device I have purchased from Rexing. I contacted them one time when I wanted to purchase a mount for one of my dash cams. They responded quickly and assisted me. I still love my dash cam which is about 5 years old now.

  20. Frank T

This is the fourth product I have owned/used from Rexing, two V1P 1080P dash cams and a V3 camera. When Rexing offered the opportunity to test and review another product of theirs I jumped at the chance. Of all the products I have only had an issue with one, one of the V1P dash cams, and they had me try to reflash the firmware, and when that didnÕt fix it, they swiftly replaced it under warranty without an issue. What I like about this company too, is it is a real company I can find in Best buy, not just a knockoff no name company

  42. Larry Oldfield

ItÕs a decent CarPlay alternative for my 2019 highlander, which does not have CarPlay. Seems to work fine, only major gripe is the blinding white background screen when it is turned on at night. Please change the back ground to black.

  43. Shakzz

I love this product as this makes my older car smarter. Definitely having all latest generation technology in it like wireless carplay and a great backup camera. The FM transmitter woks pretty well for audio. 7Ó HD IPS Touch Screen is very nice and bright and very easy to connect without any issues.

  49. Nate

I have 2014 car that doesnÕt have car play. I have been dealing with my phone all the time. Now i love that i can use car play with this big screen. Even my friend new car doesnÕt have wireless car play.

ItÕs a decent CarPlay alternative for my 2019 highlander, which does not have CarPlay. Seems to work fine, only major gripe is the blinding white background screen when it is turned on at night. Please change the back ground to black.

  87. Shakzz

I love this product as this makes my older car smarter. Definitely having all latest generation technology in it like wireless carplay and a great backup camera. The FM transmitter woks pretty well for audio. 7Ó HD IPS Touch Screen is very nice and bright and very easy to connect without any issues.

I have 2014 car that doesnÕt have car play. I have been dealing with my phone all the time. Now i love that i can use car play with this big screen. Even my friend new car doesnÕt have wireless car play.

I usually donÕt review but this one is worth a million reviews. It just turned out to be so good to be true.

ItÕs a decent CarPlay alternative for my 2019 highlander, which does not have CarPlay. Seems to work fine, only major gripe is the blinding white background screen when it is turned on at night. Please change the back ground to black.

  122. Shakzz

I love this product as this makes my older car smarter. Definitely having all latest generation technology in it like wireless carplay and a great backup camera. The FM transmitter woks pretty well for audio. 7Ó HD IPS Touch Screen is very nice and bright and very easy to connect without any issues.

Arrived quickly amd exactly as described. My 2001 minivan now has apple car play!!! Holy cow, I can use my phone hands free amd access all my music and google maps while being a safe driver. IÕm very satisfied!

  125. Nate

I have 2014 car that doesnÕt have car play. I have been dealing with my phone all the time. Now i love that i can use car play with this big screen. Even my friend new car doesnÕt have wireless car play.

A simple way to add wireless CarPlay or Android Auto technology to your older vehicle. If you are looking for an easy way to update your car with the latest technology, then this is a great way to do so.

ItÕs a decent CarPlay alternative for my 2019 highlander, which does not have CarPlay. Seems to work fine, only major gripe is the blinding white background screen when it is turned on at night. Please change the back ground to black.

Arrived quickly amd exactly as described. My 2001 minivan now has apple car play!!! Holy cow, I can use my phone hands free amd access all my music and google maps while being a safe driver. IÕm very satisfied!

  159. Shakzz

I love this product as this makes my older car smarter. Definitely having all latest generation technology in it like wireless carplay and a great backup camera. The FM transmitter woks pretty well for audio. 7Ó HD IPS Touch Screen is very nice and bright and very easy to connect without any issues.

  160. L6reviewer

  164. Nate

I have 2014 car that doesnÕt have car play. I have been dealing with my phone all the time. Now i love that i can use car play with this big screen. Even my friend new car doesnÕt have wireless car play.

“The overall first impressions are good. Currently have not yet tackled the installation of the back-up camera. The 7in. touch screen with ‘carplay’, is easy to install and configure. Using the screens and menus take some getting used to, specifically finding the home button vs siri voice.

During a road trip, the unit losses connection with the cellphone when moving between cell towers? or network? connections. The unit does not automatically return to the map and music when it re-connects to the phone. Need to manually re-start the music and map, this is distracting while driving.

The FM transmitter to the car radio is a terrific feature. It was difficult finding an open frequency. The background noise on the selected frequency sometimes adds noise to the music playing. Signal strength issue?

    Overall pleased with the unit.”

This is an amazing 7 inch wireless car play device. Easy to hook up, very well made, and adds a modern infotainment system to your car that didn’t come with the car play feature. I used the aux cord as the sound quality is better imho. The lid on the top is great for blocking the sun from bleaching out the display on the really bright days. Its comes with a really nice backup camera that is on par with most backup cameras that come included with some cars. I did not have one so this added a great feature when backing up. I love having Waze on a 7 inch screen as I am getting older I cant always see the phone screen clearly. You can use the included suction cup mount or sticky dash mount to suit your preference. Cords are nice and long and plugs into cigarette lighter. This is a great wireless car play device for the money with great support.

This thing is surprisingly awesome! My son has a 2001 Ford Taurus with the round dash console that has the heater controls built into the same unit as the factory stereo. Rather than dealing with replacing all of that we got him this unit. It work with Apple Carplay and Android auto has a built in FM Transmitter and comes with a backup camera. Overall the unit works a lot better than what I anticipated and it added so much functionality to his car. Now he doesn’t have to look down when using GPS. Great unit.

  199. Larry Oldfield

ItÕs a decent CarPlay alternative for my 2019 highlander, which does not have CarPlay. Seems to work fine, only major gripe is the blinding white background screen when it is turned on at night. Please change the back ground to black.

  200. Sparky

This is a great way to add an upgrade to your older or basic vehicle. I have it installed in a 2001 truck and it makes my old truck feel like a newer vehicle. Love it.

With that being said, the installation does take some time but everything is included to complete this. Instructions are simple but take your time and everything will go smoothly.

Having the backup camera is great when backing up trailers … should have added one of these a long time ago.

Monitor is large and pretty clear with bright colors. Bluetooth connects quickly.

    Would recommend. 4 STARS

  201. Kendrick

First off to install the screen in the backup. Cam probably took me 2 hours. Give or take setting screen up inside on the windshield. Wasn’t really hard. Only hard part was wiring the backup camera only because I’ve never did. Did something like this before. But once I watch the YouTube video on how to access the wiring for my car then it was quite easy to do. Android Auto works well with my phone when it works only issue I really have with the device. Is some reason is some buzzing noise that you, you can hear when the when you’re just on the menu screen and you still can hear it when you playing music. But other than that I am enjoying it.

  202. antonio

Bluetooth 1st with your phone an then decide where you want it these give you new car stereo options with out the installation hassles works well an you get a back up camera also

  203. Todd A Cochran

Works and functions as it should!

  204. Cody K

Product acts as a great tool for older cars (or newer) without a dash display and rear view camera. Also gives you more hands free functions instead of fiddling with your phone or aux cables. Works for Android as well.

  205. anonymous Customer

This is amazing, works great with carplay. Bluetooth is easy to connect, and had great features. Highly recommend!

  206. Holly Jeanne

I ordered this universal 7″ HD touchscreen wireless multi-media receiver because my boyfriend and I are re-storing and updating an old 1986 iroc-z Camaro… We decided to order this because it was affordable and had 4.5 star reviews in comparison to similar ones.

    PROS:
    + Easy to assemble/use/install
    + Touchscreen
+ Large 7″ HD display touch screen
+ For use with Carplay or Android models
+ Call, text, listen to music, and access maps while driving
    + Back-up camera

This is a great universal touch screen replacement for a vehicle. We would not hesitate to order this again.

  207. Shakzz

I love this product as this makes my older car smarter. Definitely having all latest generation technology in it like wireless carplay and a great backup camera. The FM transmitter woks pretty well for audio. 7Ó HD IPS Touch Screen is very nice and bright and very easy to connect without any issues.

  208. barry bett

Arrived quickly amd exactly as described. My 2001 minivan now has apple car play!!! Holy cow, I can use my phone hands free amd access all my music and google maps while being a safe driver. IÕm very satisfied!

  209. C. Turkoanje

I bought this as a quick way to get CarPlay in my car without changing the entire headunit (annoying since it also has climate in my car)

This monitor has been great. I mounted it to the dash and CarPlay is wireless, so all I need is power to the car. Works great!

  210. JEDI

Love the packaging and instructions are easy to follow!

  211. GV

Bought this for a 2014 CRV which has no car play at all. Already have a backup camera so did not need to install that (kit is there however). Product is excellent. Screen actually bigger than I expected but works well with google maps. Sound is clear. Only issue I had with install was the audio wire is too short unless the aux port is on the center console and not inside the compartment between the seats (which is what the CRV has). Would highly recommend on an older car missing this feature.

  214. Happy Customer

I have used Rexing dash cams for years. This was a little different than to products I normally look for from Rexing but was excited to try it. It came with anything I would need for the install and it was out of the box ready to use. I like that I can count on Rexing for a quality product that can stand up to the hash temperatures I can get inside my car in the summer and winter.
I would definitely get one of these for my other vehicle.

  215. Joe

Great way to modernize an older car or truck. Backup camera is clear and connects to my android easy for GPS and music. Pretty solid product!

  216. Rob Givans

I bought this for my VW Westfalia and was a great addition to upgrading my technology in my 1984 Vanagon. The backup camera is super helpful and the Apple CarPlay is a game changer to play music throughout the van without having to upgrade thousands of dollars of equipment. Great product!!

  217. J. GUZMAN

Great receiver. Works flawlessly with my phone. Feels good and safer to have CarPlay in my car. The only thing I think is missing is a hardwire kit. I would like to have an OEM looking installation by hiding the power cable but looking online seems easy to do that. I’d try some tutorial to do it.

  218. L6reviewer

  219. Anwar S.

I have several rexing dashcams and all work great. My wife’s car is 2008 for escape. She wanted a backup camera and play music from her phone. This unit not only has all those features but it looks great installed and was so easy too. She likes the fm transmitter and 7 inch touch screen too. Great upgrade for her 2008 ford escape.

  220. Erik D.

It does only a few things, but it does them really well. That’s the point! It connects to Android Auto or CarPlay wirelessly in under a minute, giving you access to your phone in a safe way. The FM transmitter works very well for audio and phone connectivity. The screen is nice and bright, and I had no connection problems.

The mount is a little smaller than I’d expect, but I never got the feeling that the unit would break loose.

I did not hook up the backup camera, but I love the option to hook it into the reverse lights for automatic use when backing up.

  221. Nate

I have 2014 car that doesnÕt have car play. I have been dealing with my phone all the time. Now i love that i can use car play with this big screen. Even my friend new car doesnÕt have wireless car play.

  222. HC

I have a 2013 Model Audi with no Bluetooth audio. I have tried different Bluetooth adapter, FM transmitters and other accessories but none of them were stable. I was thinking about changing to a aftermarket stereo but that was very costly and I might loose some control. Finally found this multimedia receiver which looked perfect for all my needs. Received it today and It is surprisingly very good. The connectivity to my phone is smooth. Android Auto is easy to use and touch screen is responsive. A perfect product for my needs.

  223. Paul

Apple Car Play is pretty quick and functionality is great. The screen is bright, and touch is responsive. Rear camera is somewhat grainy. Also, would have been good to have a wired Apple Car Play option so I wouldn’t have to have the wifi signal on all the time. When using the sound there is a faint static/buzzy sound. Otherwise, a great unit.

  224. Bobby M

    Wireless Carplay + back-up camera

    Pros:
    1. Wireless Carplay works perfectly
    2. Touch screen
    3. Has rearview camera
    4. Has audio cable

    Cons:
    1. Manual does not show how to attach the base (the stick on mount worked fine but I would have liked to know attach the base too)
    2. Audio cable can be longer

    Potential product enhancement suggestions:
    1. Wireless rearview camera would definitely have been more convenient
    2. Inbuilt dashcam would have been awesome

  225. GINO A

Rexing 41952 Multimedia Receiver W/ Backup Camera
Looks pretty salad well made unit . Very well packaged. Hard wired kit and back up camera accessories are included. Main screen is big enough for needed information. Anything bigger than that will block the view IMO. Also, the touch feature is a neat upgrade. Front and back cameras are clear and sharp.
Overall its good will se how long it last.

  226. Michael Franks

Purchased this new 41952 from RexingUSA to install in my work truck (doesn’t have an Infotainment system) and I must say I am very impressed with everything this has to offer. The user interface is great and all the features are wonderful. I can use all the aspects of my phone with Android Auto and the bigger screen and the back up camera is great!
Installation was fairly easy as all my RexingUSA dash cams have been, especially in routing wires in the truck with plenty of length to install just about anywhere in the cab I wanted it.

  228. AKIL

Just what I needed. I use reading glasses and have a problem reading directions with my iPhone. I can now see all the directions. I attached the Rexing display to my SUV small SUV display and now I have everything on my fingertip. It really looks cool that way. I can also drive and check what is going on behind the car while driving.

  229. Will Phung

So happy with my Rexing 41952. I drive an older car (20+ years) with older analog tech and this has been a great tool for so many purposes. The system syncs with my phone and I’m able to play music and use it for GPS navigation. The backup camera works perfectly with crisp quality and was surprisingly easy to install. This is a great option if you’re looking to upgrade your car without spending a crazy amount. Highly recommend!

  230. Miklos L.

This is my 4th Rexing product. The LCD screen is large (7″) so I would only recommend it if it doesn’t disturb while driving. Installation is well described in the manual, it takes about 30 minutes, there are plenty of Youtube videos detailing it. I never had any issues with either camera that I owned, so I am a very happy user.

  231. Matsi

I was amazed at how well this worked and it only took a few minutes to set up! One of the biggest things I’ve always wanted in my car was Android Auto but replacing the head unit to upgrade to it was way too expensive. This addition from Rexing allowed me to add all of the Android Auto feature I’ve been wanting, but without having to mess with rewiring my stereo system.

It comes with two types of mounts, giving you plenty of options for where you want to put it. The only issue I had was with the AUX cable that was included being too short due to my AUX input being all the way in the center console instead of up by the radio controls. This was not a very big deal for me however, as I happen to have another longer cable already and they are easy and cheap to find.

  232. Beverly Abasola

Well, where to start. I love the big touch screen, my car has a smaller screen and the Maps app is outdated and missing some new places (I would have to take it to the dealership to update the sd card and that costs 100s of dollars). POI is missing as a feature too in my car’s Maps.
This Rexing has Android Auto (my car only has Apple Carplay), so I can just use Google Maps, YouTube etc. Bluetooth is nice too.. although I have BT in my car, it disconnects randomly nowadays.
I don’t use the backup camera, coz my car has it, so I use the cam to watch my baby in the car seat, works pretty good.
Overall it’s a nice product, wish it was cheaper a bit.

  233. Benjamin Cho

This Device is amazing on older cars with no built in bluetooth, gps or reverse camera and it was quick and easy to install and setup. Sometimes the device doesn’t pair with my phone immediately so I either have to turn off and turn on bluetooth or unplug it and plug it back in. I’ve noticed the audio quality of the FM/AM pairing isn’t the best so I use the aux instead which causes a buzzing noise before it pairs with my phone (this might be an issue from my end), but other than that, it works amazing!

  234. JV

Found it easy to install and use.

I have an Android phone so can only speak from that side of things but found the menus and options easy to navigate and follow. I’ve used Android Auto on other vehicles and this mirrors that technology.

I like that the screen is a bit shielded to help make the screen easier to see. Found that the screen was easy to read both day and night. Backup camera found very adequate.

Who is this for? I wouldn’t say everyone as many newer vehicles already have this built in. If you have an older vehicle or missing some of these features and looking for them, this would be the way to go.

  235. Andrea

My older cars don’t have android/apple play, but this is like taking technology out of the new vehicles to be able to have in older ones not equipped with it from the factory. What I also love is the ability to be able to use an aux cord from my radio into this so that way I can play music through my phone while being able to use GPS apps like Waze. Great product!

  236. Edward M.

Great external Apple carplay option for cars without Apple carplay. Overall very easy to install and pretty straightforward to use. The unit will automatically connect to your phone when the power is on. There are many Carplay options that require you to remove your current media unit or display, and you have to find the correct size and difficult to install. But I like this one since its external you can just put it on your dash and connect the power.

  237. G. Silver

Setup was easy and fast with options for mounting windshield or dash. The wiring took a little bit of thought, but that’s not specific to this device, the same with any similar type device.

Connects smoothly to my Android Auto bluetooth. Much better than just using only phone in a cradle, much easier to see and touch and easy to switch between functions like phone, GPS map, and music audio, or even reading texts (when parked), or any of the many other Android Auto Apps available in Google Play.

Also includes backup cam (which I now find essential) and with parking assist.

Has own speaker, which is adequate. Screen resolution is good and menus are clean and simple.

I’ve had Rexing dash cams and have been quality products and reliable through hot summer and cold winter temps. No reason not to expect the same here.

  240. Jeffrey Tam

The screen has a high quality feel where everything is stiff to the touch with some durable weight. The cord provided is more than enough for any size vehicle. The backup camera is compact enough to fit onto any area. All the tools are provided for installation, simple stick and mount. I would definitely recommend to anyone who doesn’t have a backup camera or in want of android play.

  241. Jesse

This unit is great if your car doesn’t have a backup camera, you want to use CarPlay or Android Auto, and you don’t mind some extra cables loose in your car. The screen is clear and when it’s connected, it makes texting, navigation, and listening to music much easier than a typical stereo system. Unfortunately, the mounting is made very cheaply and the clips for the cables don’t adhere to any of the surfaces so the cables are just loose, plus the connectivity tended to be intermittent and laggy.

PROS: Sleek, clean-looking aesthetic, makes hands-free texting easier, makes listening to and choosing music while driving easier, has backup camera

CONS: Mounting is seems flimsy and prone to breaking, adhesive for cable clips and mounting ineffective, connecting via Bluetooth was inconsistent.

  243. KKanuck

Installed one to offer CarPlay in a vehicle that has an old school radio.

I was very impressed with the setup, and installation was not too difficult. The screen is very nice and a good size.

    The interface also works decently.

If you have a need for such a decvice this is highly recommended.

  244. K. L.

Does a nice job in adding tech for my car without putting in more work. Amazing to have Android auto and having a moving map in the car again. Would be nice to have some sort of hard wire kit so that I can hide the wires but overall a good product.

  245. Mike Henry

the Camera is a little blurry at night but day time is very clear. its easy to install and i have it installed in my 68 Galaxie its easy to remove and even easier to install. the suction cup does pop lose but can be mitigated. all in all a great device to have in a older car or larger vehicle that does not have a backup cam of its own.

  246. Happy mom of teething baby

I have an old minivan for traveling with the family. I plugged this in and it connected right away. was able to use the google auto seamlessly.
I have not connected the backup camera yet as you have to run a wire through the van. will update once I get a chance.

  247. Greg D

I’ve been using the system for about a month now in an older car that does not have carplay or a backup camera and this system was an easy install to update my outdated tech in the car. I’ve been using their dash cams for years and this product stands true to the name.

  249. Gamma

This is an incredibly convenient upgrade for old cars that don’t seem to have what new vehicles traditionally have nowadays. I’ve had this product for about a month now and so far have no come into any problems with it nor do I really expect any. I have purchased many Rexing products and have never had any problems at all and they’ve all lasted me longer than expected in an area where weather temperatures are extreme.
    Pros about this product:
    1. Very easy to install
    2. Phone auto connects to the unit
    3. Amazing quality image
    4. Backup camera image is very clear
    5. User friendly device
    6. Accurate GPS reading

    Cons:
None that I can currently see.

Will update once I experience anything significant.

  250. Olga

Pretty nice device. Looks good, and the appearance is without unnecessary details. It worked fast and was connected to my iPhone without problems. All applications are fast. The rearview camera turns on adequately, but I used the one already installed on my car. At least they look the same. Included is the same noname camera. Why is the SD card slot sealed? There was no SD card at hand, so I didn’t peel it off and see what was inside. I was pleased with the possibility of attaching the device in at least three different ways. A funny visor to improve visibility in bright light helps in no way. But a good try. A good solution if you do not have CarPlay or AndroidAuto built into your car. Although a little overpriced for both the functionality and the quality of the plastic. So far, four stars. I’ll update my review after a couple of months of use.

  251. Mitesh

Purchased this for a 2004 Lexus RX330. This is an easy way of adding Android Auto/Apple CarPlay into an older vehicle and it’s wireless, which is something most newer cars still don’t have. The responsiveness of the touchscreen is pretty good for the most part, once in a while there might be a slight delay. The backup camera’s quality is good and the video is clear. I was able to feed it into the reverse light, which is working well, but the installation does take some time.

One of the things that could’ve been better is placement of the ports on the device itself. The backup camera input and power input are both on the left hand side, so the wires have to run across the device and difficult to hide. Other than that, this device is great for what it does and it’s allowed me to easily upgrade a few things on my 19 year old vehicle.

  252. Scott Hodge

We purchased a 2016 Winnebago ERA. The NAV system is okay once it is programmed, but there is no Apple CarPlay, so programming is tedious and not allowed while driving. The Rexing 41952 is exactly what I was looking for. With voice commands I can setup the NAV and then play a Podcast. It was easy to setup the FM transmitter to a blank station in my area so the audio plays through the coach speakers. Although, for a while I used the built in 41952 speakers and was fine with the sound quality. I typically use drive time to learn something, so I’m most often listening to someone speak on a podcast. Music is tinny, but human voice is fine over the built in speaker.
The factory stock backup camera in the Winnebago is okay in daylight hours, but worthless at night. The backup camera provided with the 41952 is much better than the stock camera.
I’m really enjoying being able to start up the coach, tell the NAV system where I want to go with a voice command, and then start a Podcast with a voice command.
I pleased with the 41952, it does exactly what I needed it to do in our, new to us, RV. 🙂

  253. Chris

I have purchased multiple Rexing dash cameras in the past and they all have exceeded my expectations.

For my 2001 Lexus, I was looking for an upgrade to allow for use of Apple CarPlay and adding a back-up camera without having to mess with the old school head unit. This was the perfect product for it. The install for the CarPlay was super easy and quick. It works flawlessly every time.

The install for the camera was a little trickier, but due to wanting to do it cleanly. The provided cord is plenty long it takes patience to hide it. Once installed, it has worked great.

Overall, great product as always from Rexing – would highly recommend.

  254. Kin

This is a very useful device to control much of your phone’s app without having to stare at your phone. We all know it’s not safe to stare at your phone while driving and you shouldn’t be operation this touch screen either but it will allow you to see much of what you need from your phone easier. For me, the accessibility and control of my phone from the device was very good. I especially liked the back-up camera option but not necessarily just for backing up. Aside from connecting this to your back-up lights to trigger the camera to come on you can also just turn it on from the screen. Since most cars now already have a back-up camera why is this useful? Well, sometimes you just want to see what’s going on behind you without setting your car in reverse, or what I’m contemplating doing is re-installing the camera in front of my car to help better gauge how far/close I am to cars when I’m parallel parking.

One thing I had issues with is when using the navigation feature, I can only use the 2D map when it’s set to North as facing up. If I want the arrow (the route) to always be pointing upwards (they call this perspective) it automatically switches to 3D mode, and I can’t switch to use 2D with the arrow up.

Great way to add wireless carplay/android auto to a vehicle without it.

    Pros

    * Variety of mounting options for the receiver made it easy to find the optimal placement.
    * CarPlay functionality works really well – it’s really nice to have Spotify be so accessible on the receiver.
    * Consistent connection between my iphone and the receiver every single time. Bluetooth connection works like a charm
    * the 7″ IPS display is great for navigation – I was initially concerned that the display would be too large and obstructive, but was pleasantly surprised with how it sat on the dash.

    Cons

    * The touchscreen on the receiver isn’t quite as responsive as I would have hoped, especially when you’re trying to make some quick swipes or taps while you’re driving
    * The initial boot of the receiver is blindingly bright with no way to dial it down
    * The wiring processes for the back-up camera is pretty involved and requires me to drill into the back of my car for the cable routing. Would love to use this feature eventually though
    * There seemed to be some static playing through the speaker when connecting the receiver to my stereo via aux. Unsure if that’s related to my stereo or the connection to the receiver, but I used the included AUX cable for it.

  257. erikiksaz

Two things drove me to try out this unit:

    (1) The OEM navigation experience in my car was always lacking (primarily it was slow) and didn’t offer Android Auto
    (2) My phone is more difficult to see nowadays (my eyes aren’t what they used to be)

I’ve used Rexing cameras in the past so setup was similar. Just run the power cord through the A-pillar, but this time around you’d also run the backup camera in addition to an AUX cable.

    Pros:

-The touchscreen is fairly responsive to touch
-Response rate of the monitor is good.
-BT Android Auto (I don’t use an iPhone so I can’t comment on Carplay)
-Has a glare shield built in
-Multiple mounts, either dash or window
    -Backup camera
    -Built-in speaker

    Cons:
-Speaker might not be loud enough if your car is really loud
-The display has a built-in screen protector, which you might want to source a backup in case you scratch yours (it’s easily replaceable).

I have been using Rexing dashcam for long time, very reliable. During the weekend I spent a couple of hours to install this gift on an old Camry. The screen and camera quality are quite good. The Car play feature is very convenient for me to navigate maps. My car does not come with an AUX 3.5mm audio input, so I cannot play music using the car stereo. However, no outlet to charge my phone because the two power outlets are used for dashcam and this device. I guess I can use a potable power bank to solve this issue. Overall, I am satisfied with this product. I will update later when I experience more.

Very different device that’s especially useful in vehicles that have outdated or nonexistent technology. Installed in a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. Backup camera installed near the trailer hitch. Running the wire to the front was rather simple. Wire installation is temporary in the pictures. I still have to hide them. The backup camera image is clear and sharp. Little distortion from the wide angle lens. The camera is tiny! I use Android so I cannot comment on the Apple side. Starting Android Auto is simple and the interface on this device is self explanatory. Since I did connect the camera to the reverse light circuit, the display automatically changes from Maps to backup camera and back automatically. Really cool! The camera position aids in aligning the trailer hitch with the trailer, a bonus feature for me. I then tested the FM transmitter. Worked great too! I am very pleased with this device. It brings my 2002 vehicle close to “modern” vehicle technology. It’s a keeper! Sorry about the picture quality.

  260. salim ansari

Intalled and working very fine with this hassle free carplay. No need to remove old radio and fix. Just setup and put inyour dashboard and connect. Setting up backup camera is also very easy. No more looking at phones for navigation while driving. Takes 2 minutes to connect the phone and done for all the way. Very strong housing and wiggle free string suction on dashboard. I would recommend this for hands free talk and navigation.

  261. lucas camargo

Installed in my ’98 Jeep and really enjoying it. The install is as easy as mount and plug, and good to go in 5 minutes.. unless you want to do a more neat job with cable management and spend some time doing that. The cables are long enough to wrap around and behind consoles and the box includes some items to help with that.
I have an iPhone so I use the Carplay feature and it’s really cool how it syncs all the apps and features that you might need while driving. The screen is a nice size, good contrast, and it responds well to touch.
I attached the back-up camera just above my license plate and it’s nice to have, but I don’t really use it as a guide regularly when backing up because I’m still more used to just looking behind me… it’s still helpful though in certain parking situations.
All in all, only good things to say about this product. It’s all it says it is, nothing more and nothing less. The only thing that they should change about it is to add a USB port on the charging plug.

    Rexing touchscreen 41952:
    The positives
    1. Is a well built screen very easy to use.
    2. Not bad on the first of Rexing touchscreen to convert an older car to have new car features.
    3. Price for the unit is definitely worth for the quality.
    4. Comes with suction cup mount option and stand option with 3M tape.

    The negatives
    1. Power cord for the unit would be nice if it was longer 11.5 feet is not long enough. If you have a truck, you will have difficulty with wire being too short. Rexing does not make an extended accessory power cord as do they not do it for their dash cameras either would be nice if they come out with a 12 V power cord extension for the units, so you can hide cord all the way around dash and door frame.

    2. I can see the suction cup being a problem as suction cup mounts. Do not work very well. Because the weight of this unit will definitely put some strain on the suction cup mount, and for at least in Arizona with the heat 110+. It tends to fall constantly even if you use a 3M piece of tape for suction mounts still have problems but at least with this unit you can have the option of the stand which is nice.

  264. Ryder Rockstar

As an owner of many Rexing products I really like the simplicity of this product. I think it is a very nice accessory to my vehicle with a large screen for GPS, I no longer have to squint my eyes at my iPhone to see where I’m going. plus the ability to use CarPlay is cool. I have limited experience with CarPlay, so time will tell how much I actually use it. this product doesn’t have many bells and whistles but does great for what it is. I already use a Rexing dash cam with backup camera so no need to install this one, but I’m sure it will come in handy for a lot of people. the price vs what you get is the only thing I would consider a negative. seems a little High, but everything is overpriced in the present day. I like it. I’ll use it. I recommend this product to anyone that, like me, wants the addition of CarPlay or simply needs a larger screen for their GPS.

  265. Derek

Great option if you want to add Android Auto / Apple CarPlay and a backup camera to your vehicle!

    Key positives:

    – High-quality packaging and materials
    – Easy to set up
    – Large, bright display w/ auto brightness adjustment
    – Backup cam is snappy and fairly high-resolution
    – Built-in FM transmitter means one less cable when connecting your car’s speaker system!
    – Plenty of mounting options / included hardware

    Other comments:
    – I had trouble finding a super clear station for the FM transmitter in an urban area (recommend using the included aux cable if you’re an audiophile)
    – You’ll want to mount this on the LEFT side of your windshield, to keep all of the wires out of the way (power cable, reverse cam cable, optional audio aux cable)
    – If you want the backup cam to turn on automatically when reversing, you’ll need to wire it to your reverse lights
    – I experienced a delay on Android Auto when asking Google to do something – had to wait a few seconds to speak, or else it wouldn’t hear my first few words. But pretty sure this is just an Android Auto thing and no fault of the Rexing device.

    Things I wish it had:
    – Built-in dashcam (front and rear-facing). I would definitely have paid extra for this option, as having both things on my windshield feels a bit cluttered
    – Bluetooth pairing to your car’s speaker system (FM transmitter and AUX cable can be a bit clunky, although nice that it has both options!)
    – Would be super cool if the reverse camera could detect reverse motion automatically via real-time image processing, instead of needing to hardwire it to your tail lights

All in all a perfect device if you’re simply looking to add Android Auto / Apple CarPlay + a backup camera to your vehicle, and don’t mind fitting a large screen with 2-3 extra wires onto your dashboard.

I currently own three Rexing dashboard cameras installed in each of my cars and I’m satisfied with their quality and performance, so when this product – 41952 Multimedia Receiver came out, I decided to give it a try.

The product comes with the display unit, backup camera, cables, holders and basic instructions on how to install it. If you have difficulty installing it, there are videos available on YouTube that you can check.

I tried testing it in both Apple Carplay and Android Auto and they are both work well. They have some minor differences in the screen display but they are both easy to use. The no. of apps being displayed on the screen will depend on the apps installed on your phone.

I’m using it primarily for GPS navigation and playing music. Before, I only used my phone for navigation but with this, I have a bigger and brighter screen display (7″ HD touch screen) in front of me which makes it easier for me to read the street names and follow the directions. I’m using Amazon Music and Spotify to play my favorite music. I suggest using the FM transmitter feature to connect to your car radio wirelessly so you have one less cable to worry about. But you can always use the supplied cable to connect to your car’s AUX if you prefer to. Siri is available if you want a voice command feature or you can just use the touch screen.

My car is equipped with a backup camera but just out of curiosity, I tried installing the backup camera that comes with the product and it is as good as my car’s original backup camera.

I wish it could be used to play videos (YouTube, Netflix, etc.) too so I can watch things while waiting in the parking lot.

Overall, it’s a good product and it met my expectations. If you want to upgrade your car to have a nice digital display, this is how you can do it.

  268. Sanchx32

Anyone that has used Carplay or Android Auto are used to the simplicity of the interface. This device does the same thing, without overwhelming the user with a ton of menus. The unit has its own speaker if you don’t have a way to get the sound into the car’s speakers. The sound is not the best, but for most cars you will be able to connect with an aux cord or turn on FM output and dial in to the station.

The unit is portable, imagine a GPS device for your car. Plug in the cigarette lighter, connect the aux cord (or use FM), and if you want to connect the camera. I can see people using this in rental cars, loaner cars, and other vehicles where you cannot modify the car.

The camera gives you the option to just plug in and select the camera button to view, or if you are making a more permanent installation, it has a wire for reverse so it will automatically display when the car is placed in reverse.

The connection for your phone is wireless, using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi so you don’t have to have your phone plugged into the device.

If I could make any changes, I would allow the device to output to Bluetooth for vehicles that can use it as an input. Many new cars are coming with just a usb input and no Aux input. The FM output works, but it’s kind of a last resort.

If you are a frequent traveler that is using different vehicles that you don’t own, this can be the perfect addition to your traveling collection.

Of course, if you own a car that doesn’t have Carplay or Android Auto, wireless versions of both can be extremely expensive to add and this is a decent option to save some money. Some vehicles have no way to upgrade the radio, and this is a perfect option in those cases.

Overall, this has a lot of potential and is much safer than trying to use your phone by itself. Parents may want to make this investment for their driving kids. Perfect Christmas gift!

  269. Karl

All-in-all this is a pretty nice unit. Android.Apple play with the 7″ display is nice and works well. Display quality is good and I like the sun visor over the top edge as well. The sun visor isn’t removable so it can make it difficult to mount in some locations.
The major drawback for me with this unit is the forward looking dash cam is mounted in the high center of the display unit. That means the nice big 7″ display MUST be mounted in a position that blocks a large % of your view through the windshield. I didn’t really think about it until I tried mounting it in the car I intended on using it in. Once I tried mounting it I quickly realized it took up a huge amount of space. IF, it used a small camera for the front, like a rear view camera, for both front and back that would make this an epic find for everything from restorations to daily driver. I’ve got a ’78 Ranchero I would love to mount this in place of the OEM radio and put a small camera in the windshield and the backup camera out back. But that won’t work with the main camera mounted in the back of the display. Missed opportunity.
The backup camera has a far more grainy quality than I’m accustom to seeing from Rexing. I took one star for that. Honestly, I was a bit dissapointed in that part.
Overall, it’s a nice unit. If you have a vehicle with a big enough windshield for you to loose a fairly large amount of view through, it’s good. Small cars will want to pass on this unit I think.

    Good luck!

  270. chris

Although it has some quirks, this device does a good job of upgrading my 2014 Subaru Forester with CarPlay. The wires connect to the left side of the device, and I wish there were better options to hide them. I also prefer to keep my device lower and off of the windshield. Since my dashboard does not keep suction cups on very well, I decided to use my old phone mount for the car vent, which has done the job so far, but it’s not perfect and is a bit bouncy sometimes. I wish it had a car vent mount that properly fit the device.

After the initial setup, the display auto-connects to my phone in about 20 seconds – not bad, but could be quicker, and I’m not sure if it’s because of my phone or the device. During these 20 seconds, I hear a buzzing noise through AUX, which is annoying but eventually goes away.

Regarding the display – it turns on with a very bright white screen for a few seconds, which burns my eyes, and I haven’t found a way of changing it to black. Swiping the display could be smoother, and I found it lagged sometimes. I had to press down on the display a bit harder than I would have liked to swipe through each page in CarPlay.

Overall, I’m happy with my purchase – it massively upgrades my 2014 Subaru Forester and makes my trips more enjoyable and easier to navigate.

  272. Vincent

Saw this item advertised and found it to be perfect for my 04 Corolla.

The setup was a breeze and the connection to my phone was self-explanatory. So far after a couple of days of using it, I have found it has more benefits than cons. Rexing has delivered again with their products and I hope to see more like this in the future. My only suggestion to Rexing is to allow dark mode even on the start-up screen.

    Pros:
    Automatic connection to the phone
FM Broadcast of music/audio from the phone to car speakers
Breathes new life into older stereo systems without the hassle of the expense of a new head unit.

    Cons:
A bright startup screen can be too bright in the early morning/late evening hours.
Limited app support, maybe not be a bad thing to prevent distracted driving.
Allow the use of the Rexing hardwire kit to keep exposed wires around the dash to a minimum.

Although not mentioned in the specs, there is a microphone and speaker built into the unit to allow the user to make calls through the unit and not go directly through the phone.

  273. Jonathan Vomacka

I’ve owned various Rexing products for my vehicles over the years and love the products. Additionally, they are very competitive and offer high quality products.

Pros: This product release is another interesting and great product by Rexing. I installed it in my 2008 Honda Ridgeline which did not previously contain any digital interface. The touch screen and backup cameras provide high resolution and adds a nice touch to older vehicles. This product basically modernizes any vehicle and provides an interface for your phone, backup camera, GPS, radio, etc. I liked being able to connect my phones to android auto and manage phone calls and text messages while stopped on the road.

The unit comes with a backup camera that was a nice addition to my honda ridgeline. For anyone that has owned a truck and/or trailered anything, a backup camera definetely comes in handy.

Rexings’ offering allows anyone with an older vehicle to modernize and provide all the bells and whistles that a newer vehicle would have at a fraction of the cost. I highly recommend.

Con: The only drawback is that most newer vehicles already contain some form of a digital display, GPS, or both. I did not find benefit in installing this in some of my newer vehicles. This product is going to be geared towards older vehicles. The screen is extremely bright by default but this can be modified in settings. When using it in the dark, it can be a bit blinding initially. I suggest that Rexing help change the default brightness to about 50% for night driving.

  274. Rebecca O

The Rexing 41952 Receiver is an outstanding choice for anyone looking to upgrade their car audio system. The compact design of the receiver makes installation a breeze and it fits seamlessly into any car dash. The sound quality is impressive, delivering clear and crisp audio that enhances the overall listening experience.

Pairing my phone with the receiver was quick and easy, and the connection remained stable throughout my drive. I was able to stream music wirelessly from my phone and make hands-free calls with the built-in microphone. The buttons on the receiver also make it simple to control my music and calls without having to fumble with my phone.

Another great feature is the ability to charge USB devices through the USB port provided in the receiver. This is very useful for keeping my phone charged on long drives.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Rexing 41952 Receiver. It has exceeded my expectations in terms of sound quality, connectivity, and ease of use. The sleek design and affordable price make it an excellent value for anyone in the market for a new car audio receiver. I highly recommend the Rexing 41952 Receiver to anyone looking to upgrade their car audio system.

  276. ATR2156

If you are looking for an easy way to update your car with the latest technology, this Rexing kit is a simple way to add wireless CarPlay or Android Auto technology to your older vehicle.

Pros: Setup was easy. Backup camera visibility was good but nothing special. It’s an upgrade if you didn’t have anything prior. Pairing to my phone was painless. Audio was clear and heard all turn by turn directions without issue. Suction cup has had no issues yet but we will we once summer rolls around. I liked the option of mounting on window or standing like a TV.

Cons: Too many cords for my liking but understand the reasoning for it. Loading screen is very very white. It’s a bit annoying first thing in the morning when it’s pitch dark outside and it loads up. My kids always gripe about it. Would be nice if there was a dark mode. Also, I’m guessing to keep the price down, a camera for the front wasn’t added. That would have made this the entire package.

Overall, you this kit upgrades your car with the newest technology at a reasonable cost. It’s a Rexing, so you know you will be getting a great device. Comes with with a 18 month warranty, if you register. I have had many Rexing products in the past and they have not disappointed. I don’t believe this one would either.

Final Note: I was given this equipment to test as long a I posted a review. What I have posted here is my own thoughts and opinions and have not been influenced by Rexing.

The Rexing 41952 is a product that adds a rearview camera and a display screen to old cars that do not have one. The installation process is relatively easy and requires no complicated wiring. It comes with an adapter that powers the device by plugging it into the cigarette lighter socket in the car. The instructions provided are well-written and clear, making the installation process manageable. The Rexing 41952 display screen is high-quality and the picture is crisp and clear, however, the night vision of the camera is not very good. The device takes up a lot of space and can feel cluttered and it does not have a dashcam recording feature. It allows for easy access to the rear view of the car and also provides reversing lines on the display screen. One great thing about this device is that it connected smoothly to Android Auto and improved the experience greatly.

    Pros:
    Easy installation process
    No complicated wiring required
    High-quality display screen
Provides easy access to the rear view of the car
Reversing lines on the display screen
    Connects smoothly to Android Auto
Recommended for older vehicles without an LCD screen
    Greatly improves the driving experience
    Cons:
The night vision of the camera is not very good
Takes up a lot of space and can feel cluttered
Not recommended for newer vehicles that already have an LCD screen
May still need to use mirrors in low-light conditions
Some users may find the device manual unclear.

Overall, the Rexing 41952 is a good option for those looking to upgrade their old car’s technology. However, it’s important to take into account the limitations such as the night vision and the lack of a dashcam recording feature. It provides easy access to the rear view of the car and also provides reversing lines on the display screen and it connects smoothly to Android Auto. It’s recommended for older vehicles without an LCD screen but not for the newer vehicles that already have one.

  278. DJ

I have a 2007 Honda that doesn’t have any of the things I have in my newer car, like Bluetooth, gps, or a backup camera that is at all useful, so this seemed like a really nice option to give my Honda a small technology face lift.

Pros: Once connected to my phone and android auto updated, the RexingUSA 41952 was able to connect and jump right into Android auto. The screen was relatively snappy, not super responsive but for what this is and the power this has, I was more than happy with flipping through the menus, being guided by GPS and listening to Pandora. Setting up the music on the FM transmitter was a bit of a challenge, but once set, the likelihood of ever needing to change the FM transmitter is very very low.

I did plug the backup camera in to see the resolution and it was nice to have on a vehicle this old. Is it super high 4k rez camera, No. But it clear enough to visibility see everything to give the extra peace of mind when backing up that I don’t have now.

    Cons:
Once connected to Android auto, there is zero way that I have found to go back to the main RexingUSA 41952 menu to change or review the FM transmitter setting. I would forget and have to turn off my Bluetooth and wifi (it uses both at the same time) to kick it back out. I really wish there was a way to jump out of android auto to the main menu. Also the FM transmitter isn’t the best. We already have a FM transmitter in this car to give us “Bluetooth” audio and our existing one was a bit clearer than this. But if you had nothing to compare this to, I think you would be okay.
The marketing around this backup camera have guiding backup strips to help backing up is a lie and does not exist and should be removed from the marketing material. I am not a fan of false marketing crap.
Lastly the loading screen. When this puppy loads up, the loading screen 99% white and set to an eye melting max brightness. If it is dark out and you turn on your car, this thing blinds you for a good 30 sec while it loads up. This should be fixed with an update but wow was this terrible.
My eyes had to recover for a bit before getting on the road as all I could see was a white square in my vision.

Final thoughts: with my gripes, most of them could be fixed with software updates so I hope those get looked into but the over all functionality it provides to my old car is refreshing! I would recommend trying this out if you have an older car.

Additional note: I was given this equipment for review. These are my own thoughts and opinions and have not been influenced by RexingUSA. I chose to participate in this opportunity as I currently have two Rexing v1P cameras that I love and have worked flawlessly.

What made this appealing to me was the fact that I didn’t have to buy a sosche head unit display kit to replace my tundra radio and get additional harness adapters. It was challenging to find something that would be adequate because I have a 07′ mercedez c300 and a 2010 tundra both without android auto or carplay for the wife. This gave me the option to just have one unit for both cars to cut down the cost from ~$800 for 2 head units to 1 unit interchangable with the suction and hard mount. It was super easy to use, I already had a mini usb power cord connected to my 5V fuse so it was literally a plug and play situation for me. It has FM Transmitter which was ideal for the mercedez and on the Tundra I have an AUX line right below the head unit. The sound quality on the FM transmitter is expected, pick a low FM frequency and it is clear as day, pick one above 90.2FM and it’ll have too much noise. It was pretty darn awesome it connected right away after the initial setup and I can use my android auto, play music etc and mainly use google maps without having to look at the phone anymore. It sits on the dash and I just bring it in since I don’t park in the garage, it essentially replaced my Garmin and phone. I plan to put a screen protector on it later. I would recommend this for those with older cars.

It’s a decent CarPlay alternative for my 2019 highlander, which does not have CarPlay. Seems to work fine, only major gripe is the blinding white background screen when it is turned on at night. Please change the back ground to black.

The overall first impressions are good.

    Overall pleased with the unit.
